A99 Motorway tunnel Munich-Aubing

TMS for a new motorway tunnel on the western section of the A99 (the Munich motorway ring), including a 10 km section of TMS. Integration of the existing TMS on the A99 and expansion of the existing central control system (Tunnel Allach) into the new section.

The 2 km Aubing Tunnel has been built to avoid noise pollution of the adjoining residential areas. The tunnel equipment fits the newest German safety standards. The TMS includes lane signalization, variable message signs, traffic detection, oversized vehicle detection, variable sign-posting and barriers. Automatic interaction with the existing safety equipment guarantees an immediate and reliable response of the sytem in the case of an alarm scenario.

VIA is responsible for parts of the concept and final design, and fully responsible for supervision of realization and testing.
